SEVEN!

From Dingle Peninsula, IrelandImage via WikipediaIn seven days, Will and I will leave for Dublin. We'll be checking into this hotel. Then, after one night in bustling Dublin, we'll head on to this cottage about four and a half hours away on the southwestern side of Ireland—the very end of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. County Kerry is a Gaeltacht, which means it's an Irish-speaking region. We can expect to see signs in both Irish and English as well as hear the Irish language spoken. I love the idea that we're going to see a portion of traditional Irish culture instead of the typical tourist traps.

On our way to Dingle, I have some sojourns planned, so I expect it will take us longer than four and a half hours to get to our cottage, but that's as it should be. We'll stop first at Powerscourt Estate, meander over to Glendalough, and finally we'll end our tour at the Rock of Cashel before driving straight through to Dingle.

I can't believe it's almost here! It seems like I've waited and waited and waited, and now I'm going to get on a plane and do it. My heart is indeed happy.
